It was a Friday night show so we took off from work and headed to the Gorge around noon and went directly to the concert. We were lucky enough to tow the boat into the Premier camping area which was originally sold out for the show.
It was by far the best weather that I've encountered at the gorge. No Wind! It didn't get that sunny but the weather was nice enough and didn't get too chilly after the sun went down.
We sat in the first row of the second set of general admission seating, right in front of the fence which provided a great view.

The next afternoon we decided to get off the beaten path and camp along the Columbia River.
Found a spot and set up camp for the evening.
After we were settled in for the evening we had an encounter with a rattle snake. About four feet away from us we heard a rattling sound and Mojo was face to face with a snake. With the command, 'leave it' and 'come here' thank god Mojo listened and got away unharmed. I could totally see him going in for one more investigative sniff before heading over to us.
I don't know how Doug talked me into not packing up everything and heading straight home after that. We actually camped there that night!
The rest of the evening was snake free and actually turned out quite lovely. The stars were amazing and the little dipper was lined up in the sky right above the boat in the middle of the sky. Our view was so amazing it looked like a cheesy photo shop job on a print ad.
The view when we woke up was just as breath taking.
During the night the dam down the river pulled the plug on our water supply and the boat was completely beached.
We were stuck in the middle of no where...
Here are pics from the rescue squad of Doug's new buddies days later.
