This 90-minute thriller, adapted from one of the most famous suspense novels of all time, shoots out of a cannon right from the start. As Inspector Porfiry delves deeper into Raskolnikov’s mind, he finds himself intrigued by the man he must convict. This criminal mystery, in the tradition of hardboiled detective stories, pits good against evil in a frightening battle of morality and a quest for salvation. Can a crime be punished, while the criminal is redeemed? Dostoyevsky’s labyrinth of questions reveals there are no black-and-white answers.
Associate Director Sheila Daniels made her Intiman debut last season with her critically acclaimed staging of A Streetcar Named Desire, which played to standing-room audiences throughout its run. She launches our 2009 Season with this exciting psycho-thriller, in a re-imagined staging of the hit production that originated at Capitol Hill Arts Center in 2007. Original stars Hana Lass and Galen Joseph Osier are joined by Todd Jefferson Moore; their tour-de-force performances will leave you breathless.
After the play we went to meet Maiko and Mike at the Hideout on first hill. We had a great time catching up with them. Maiko works next door to Kells on 3rd ave and we all told stories about the people in that bar.
